On 20 and 21 February 2025, the TANDEM project’s second technical workshop, focused on hybrid energy systems, is taking place in Pisa, gathering around 60 in person and online participants from academia, research and industry. The workshop aims at providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the potential role that hybrid energy systems including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) can play in the ongoing energy transition.

The workshop focuses on the description of SMR modelling and optimisation tools to assess hybrid energy systems integrating nuclear reactors, together with the SMR coupling with other energy sources and energy storage systems in hybrid energy systems.
